Health City is very pleased to announce that Reg Joseph has accepted the position of Interim Chief Executive Officer. Reg will take on the role beginning February 19th and serve as Health City CEO until a formal national recruitment process can be completed later this year. Mr. Joseph is well regarded in the local health innovation community and brings a broad perspective of experience to the role. In his prior experience he served as an equities analyst for a Boston-based healthcare investment bank, an executive in residence at TEC Edmonton (a local incubator), a CEO for a local technology company Metabolomic Technologies Inc. and most recently as the VP of Health at Alberta Innovates. This broad perspective on many critical dimensions of our local eco-system is a critical asset in the foundational work that he will undertake for Health City. As we continue to build the Health City team and formally establish the operating board we welcome Reg into a key role at a very critical time. Reg was a part of Health City from the beginning serving as Alberta Innovates voice on our steering committee. The Health City steering committee would like to thank Alberta Innovates for their support and partnership in making Reg available to this key initiative for the City and all of Alberta. This role will be a key addition to the significant contribution that Karen Wichuk has played and will continue to play as she will provide executive leadership through the transition to Reg. Health City is an Edmonton economic development initiative driven by Canada’s most integrated network of academic, health, government, and industry partners focused on enabling and empowering health technology innovators in a cohesive commercialization ecosystem.
