BioAlberta held its 20th anniversary gala, honouring leaders in life sciences. MetroLab Network announced the City of Edmonton and University of Alberta are the first partners in Canada to join the international group of city-university partnerships. The University Hospital Foundation announced the Brain Centre Campaign has raised more than $70 million. The Brenda Strafford Foundation announced that $200,000 in funding from the provincial government will be used for the Brenda Strafford Foundation’s Guide to Create Dementia Friendly Communities. The government also announced $100,000 in funding for Covenant Health’s Network of Excellence in Seniors’ Health and Wellness for six projects to improve care for dementia patients.
