Here are some highlights from this week’s Health Innovation Roundup: News The MacEwan Health Centre officially opens Hitachi collaborates with Health City Researchers out of the University of Alberta have created a new urine test to detect tuberculosis in patients with HIV and are putting out a call for trial partners Events The Rising Stars Health Innovations Symposium will take place on Oct. 23 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chateau Louis Conference Centre. Tickets range from $60 to $75. Edmonton will be host to the 2019 Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health Symposium from April 14 to 16, 2019. The deadline for abstract submissions is Oct. 26. Spotlight on Innovation Health to Home – the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital will be hosting an event at the Westin Hotel on Nov. 7 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. focused on the solving the challenges people with disabilities face transitioning from healthcare settings back to their homes. The Alberta Health Economics Study Group Annual Seminar 2018 will take place in Calgary on Nov. 6 at the University of Calgary Downtown Campus Nexen Space. MEDEC has put the call out for ideas for Canada’s MedTech Conference 2019, which will be held in the GTA on April 3-4, 2019.
