Here are some highlights from this week’s Health Innovation Roundup:

Local headlines

  • Avenue magazine hosted its first-ever innovation event at NAIT on June 18. The event highlighted several sectors including health innovation in Edmonton.
  • Edmonton-based immersive reality company Aris MD was named a Top 10 NASA iTech finalist and will present a pitch in July to fight for a spot in the top 3.
  • Virologist Matthias Götte led research on isolating an enzyme, Remdesivir, that is responsible for copying the Ebola genome.
  • Anderson Hall, a 24/7 access program for addiction and mental health services, opened at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. The centralized site will allow for faster care for patients requiring mental health and addictions supports.
