A masters student in rehabilitation medicine created a virtual reality experience at the University of Alberta Rehabilitation Robotics Lab to allow students to practice patient interactions. BioAlberta is conducting a survey and accepting pitches for its industry showcase in September. A new screening test introduced by Alberta Health Services on May 31 that checks for four conditions helped diagnose two newborns with severe combined immunodeficiency. An Edmonton-based numbered company operating as ARBR has signed an agreement with Namaste Technologies Inc. to incorporate NamasteMD into its clinical referral platform. ARBR is a web-based direct-connect telemedicine application for pharmacists and clinicians to help patients using cannabis.
