The company uses fruit flies to more sustainably develop the growth factor used in cellular agriculture, and it sees further opportunities in therapeutics and vaccines.KemNet, an e-commerce platform to distribute reformulated medications to pharmacies, has been accepted into Y Combinator. Founder Morẹ́nikẹ́ Ọláòṣebìkan is now looking for patients, prescribers, and investors.The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories (AS AB/NT) has partnered with Campus Alberta Neuroscience (CAN) to launch a research competition for innovative research concerning dementia. The society has committed up to $5 million over five years to be distributed through an annual research competition administered by CAN, launching on Sept. 21, which is World Alzheimer’s Day.Researchers at the University of Alberta, under the direction of Mahdi Tavakoli at the Telerobotic and Biorobotic Systems Group, are combining AI and exoskeleton technology to aid those with mobility issues. Machine learning helps the exoskeleton “learn” to walking patterns of each individual to provide a fully personalized experience.Ceapro is expanding its collaboration with McMaster University on a research project to develop an inhalable immuno-therapeutic/-prophylactic for COVID-19-induced lung fibrosis.
